Jeanne Trembly asked Karen Duquette to perform with her at a Gong Show at a nightclub in downtown Fort Lauderdale, and Karen agreed. Jeanne choreographed the performance so that their actions portrayed the words in the song. So Karen and Jeanne invited their line dance friends and Karen's family to come to the show and about 30 people showed up. They had the most number of people in the audience in the nightclub, so the judges decided that Karen and Jeanne should perform last, so there would be guaranteed audience there during all of the performances.

All during the performance, the judges, who sat on the side of the stage, drank liquor. So by the time Karen and Jeanne performed, the judges were VERY DRUNK, and talked through the entire performance. Somebody took a few photos, and Lee Duquette filmed the performance.

At this point, the judges Gonged Karen and Jeanne and yelled for them to "get off the stage." The audience was not happy and yelled at the judges. Karen kept dancing for a few seconds, but Jeanne stopped immediately so Karen had to stop too. Then the MC came up on stage (see the photo below) and told the judges to calm down, and "let them continue". They put the music back on, but Karen and Jeanne were no longer sure where to start performing because the steps were choreographed to the words of the song. But they did continue to perform, and of course the drunk judges were still rude and talking loudly.

Afterwards, people who did not know Karen or Jeanne told them that they should not have been gonged. Karen wasn't that upset, but Jeanne was devastated because this was her idea and it meant a lot to her.

And so they began again.....

Karen's friend Ooopsy The Clown was there too. Karen made a nice DVD for Jeanne since Lee had filmed the entire performance.
