Journey Behind the Falls is an
attraction in Niagara Falls, Ontario located in the Table Rock Center beside
the Canadian Horseshoe Falls. It is open year round and run by the Niagara
Parks Commission.
Journey Behind the Falls consists of an observation platform and series of tunnels near the bottom of the Horseshoe Falls on the Canadian shore of the Niagara River. The tunnels and platform can be reached by elevators from the street level entrance. The tour is unguided. The two tunnels extend approximately 138 feet behind the waterfall and allow visitors to view water cascading in front of the open cave entrances. In the opinion of the two RV Gypsies, this part is OK, but not overly exciting. The observation deck provides a vantage point looking up with the falls to the right, allowing a full view of the famous landmark. The deck is sprayed with water from the cascade soaking the visitors. The two RV Gypsies liked this part best. |

Below: Standing at the railing up above the falls, the two RV Gypsies looked down at the observation platform of the Journey Behind The Falls. The yellow marks in the two photos below are people.
Below: Lee and Karen Duquette plus their grandson, 11-year old Alex Jones, entered the tunnel and as described above, viewed the water cascading in front of the open cave entrances.
Below: Then the two RV Gypsies and their grandson went onto the Observation Deck to get a close-up view of Horseshoe Falls, and thereby got pretty wet (the ponchos helped some).
The two RV Gypsies went to Nester Falls and the Doreal Trail- and Lee Duquette got attached by a grouse |
