Veteran's Memorial Park in Waterbury, CT is a serene public park dedicated to honoring the sacrifices of Military Veterans. The park features walking paths, open green spaces, and a variety of memorials and monuments paying tribute to those who have served in the military. Lee and Karen Duquette enjoyed some peaceful moments of reflection and a leisurely stroll in this well-maintained park. Lee and Karen Duquette also happen to be Military Veterans (but they do NOT consider themselves heroes), so they stop at all Veterans Parks that they encounter during their travels.
Below: Waterbury Vietnam War Memorial - Thirty sons of Waterbury died while serving in the Vietnam War. They are listed by their date of death, their location on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall and the area where they died. Each name was inscribed on the plaque that was erected in 2006 by Waterbury Veterans Memorial Committee. This is a Historical Marker and Memorial.
Below: Remember The Maine is dedicated to the Spanish-American War Veterans from Waterbury in recognition of their deeds in the war with Cuba, the Philippine Insurrection and the Chinese Expeditionary Force. Special remembrance is given to Thomas Troy of Waterbury who died on the U.S.S. Maine in Havana Harbor.

Leaving the park, Karen Duquette photographed a memory flag on a pole. There were several other flags with different names of people, but Karen was only able to photograph one of the flags.
