Monster Jam has been in Pittsburgh in recent years, but this year, they took the racing outside. Karen and Lee Duquette have seen all of these Monster Trucks before, except for Classroom Crusher. They have also seen and gotten signatures from several of the Monster Truck drivers in the past, as noted below. Some Monster Trucks have different drivers.
On this date, drivers competed in the Racing, Skills and Freestyle competitions for the Stadium Championship Series East title, looking to earn a spot in the Monster Jam World Finals in Salt Lake City, Utah, during the Fourth of July weekend. And yes, Lee and Karen Duquette HOPE to attend the World's Finals this year.
Monster Trucks weigh 12,000 pounds, have 1,500 horsepower, are 12 feet tall, and have custom-made, 66" tires.
Colt Stevens, the driver for ThunderROARus, said he just got into Pittsburgh last night. "This is one of the first places I ever came when I started my career almost 14 years ago," Stevens said.
Today's event on Saturday, May 17, 2025 began at 12:30 p.m. with a pit
party at Acrisure Stadium before doors opened at 3:30 p.m., and the racing
got underway at 5:00 p.m. It was a long break between the Pit Party and
the racing. Karen Duquette hoped to purchase some miniature monster trucks,
but the only ones being sold on this date, she already had purchased in
the past.
After standing in line for quite awhile, the doors were finally opened for the Pit Party. This was the 12th Monster Jam that Lee and Karen Duquette have attended, and it will not be their last one. But this was the first time that they were not allowed to bring in a Monster Jam bag that they purchased previously, because it was not a totally clear bag. Andy Armadillo is not always friendly to adults, but Karen Duquette had her picture taken with him anyway.

Below: Jack Brosch worked as a volunteer in a food booth at Monster Jam. He was glad to see "older people" at this event. Karen Duquette bought an expensive drink, which Jack refilled for her. Karen enjoyed the conversations with him and hopes that he signs her guestbook.
Then it was time to enter the stadium and assigned seats. Karen Duquette took several photos before the events began including the Acrisure Stadium photo shown below.
