Two RV Gypsies: Full-Time RVers
The two RV Gypsies at Riverbanks
Zoo and Gardens |
|
Riverbanks Zoo and Garden is said to be home to more than 3,000 animals and a beautiful botanical gardens. It is open daily, except Thanksgiving and Christmas days. On this date, entry prices ranged from $22 - $25 with children younger than 2 years old being free. So seniors and military did not get much of a discount. Parking was an additional $5. Pets, coolers, outside food and beverages were NOT allowed in the park. Riverbanks Zoo is a smoke-free facility. There were plenty of birds, fish and invertebrates, mammals and reptiles. However, this day was so hot (in the 90's), that many of the animals could not be seen. It was too hot out to See the African Lion, the tigers, and others. Therefore, the two RV Gypsies did not consider it worth the cost. But that is just their option. There is a also a Sky-High Safari for the adventuresome, which has a weight and height requirements. There may have been an additional fee for this, as well as for the railroad, farmyard petting area, and other areas within the zoo. The two RV Gypsies did not do these items. Giraffe food can be purchased for those who wish to feed the giraffes. |
