The two RV Gypsies in Abilene, Texas

Abilene is a city in Taylor and Jones Counties in Texas. It is the 27th-most populous city in the state of Texas and the principal city of the Abilene metropolitan statistical area at this time. It is the county seat of Taylor County.

Abilene is located off Interstate 20, between exits 279 on its western edge and 292 on the east. It is 150 miles west of Fort Worth. The city is looped by I-20 to the north, US 83/84 on the west, and Loop 322 to the east.

A railroad divides the city down the center into north and south. The historic downtown area is on the north side of the railroad. Dyess Air Force Base is located on the west side of the city.

Below: The two RV Gypsies saw a big pink flamingo with sunglasses hanging out if its mouth. It was located at 901 N. 1st Street. The artist is Joe Barrington. It is a playful piece made to make people laugh.

Below: A steel grey mustang is rearing up into the air with his red eyes glowing. MesteƱo is an 8-foot version of a 32-foot Jimenez sculpture commissioned by the Denver International Airport. The mustang is said to bring power to both the cowboy and the plains Indians. It has become an important image of the American West.
