Below: Gatekeeper - the new roller coaster in 2013 -

GateKeeper is the tallest, fastest and longest wing roller coaster in the world!

Soar on the wings of Cedar Point's guardian of the front gate when you climb 170 feet and perform a wing-over drop maneuver, sending you on a 2-minute, 20-second adrenaline rush! Fly through acrobatic turns and rolls as you coast up and over the park's main entrance. GateKeeper's trains then "thread" riders through two keyholes - built into giant towers that now provide a stunning first impression as you enter the park. GateKeeper breaks seven world records:

  • Longest wing coaster - 4,164 feet

  • Fastest non-launched wing coaster - 67 mph

  • Tallest inversion on any roller coaster - 170 feet

  • Longest drop on a wing coaster - 164 feet

  • Most inversions on a wing coaster - 6

  • Most roller coaster track at one park - 56,702 feet

  • Most rides at one park - 72

Karen Duquette took the below photos of the track at the beginning of the ride, while she was waiting in line to ride the roller coaster.

But of course, Karen's favorite roller coaster at Cedar Point is still Top Thrill Dragster - which goes from 0 mph to 120 mph in under 4 seconds, then straight up 420 feet, over the curve, then straight down 420 feet.

Below: Lines for Top Speed Dragster on Friday night, September 13, 2013 were empty - 15 minutes (amazing),
but the next day, Sunday, September 14, 2013, the line for Top Speed Dragster was 1-hour to 1-/12 hour long, which is a more normal time.

Below; Karen Duquette's next favorite ride is Wicked Twister, the tallest and fastest double-twisting IMPULSE coaster in the world. Located right on the sandy Cedar Point Beach, Wicked Twister launches riders back and forth and into two, 450-degree twists at each end of the track. Height 215 feet. Length 2,700 feet. Ride time 40 seconds. Speed 72 mph.
