Hopi Point located in Arizona's Grand Canyon National Park is the northernmost spot on this part of the south rim, and the first point where much more of the western Grand Canyon comes into full perspective - another 20 miles, since the Colorado begins a big bend northwards, allowing views all the way to Havasupai Point and the Great Scenic Divide. Hopi Point has a fenced viewing area next to the road, and a vista over the canyon centered on Dana Butte, a flat mesa 2,000 feet below the overlook. Because of the wide-ranging, unobstructed views.

Lee and Karen Duquette went on a rafting tour in the Grand Canyon
Lee Duquette on the bow of the raft - what a brave soul he was back then. What a nice tan they both had. |

Lee Duquette balanced on the bow of the raft as the raft floated up to the waterfall. |

Karen and Lee posed for photos and showed off their tans |

Below: Lee went around the corder of the big boulders and climbed a bit higher up. After getting inside the dark tunnel (shown in the photo on the left below), there was another waterfall. |

Below: A rare sight - Lee Duquette looking serious |

The water was very very icy cold, but Lee and Karen braved the waterfall anyway.

Karen Duquette sat in the icy cold water under the waterfall. She glowed with happiness. |
