Creek Falls in the Blue Ridge Mountains April 30, 2010 |
Four
spectacular waterfalls found off the Richard Russell Scenic Highway in the Blue Ridge Mountains of north Georgia 1. Blue Hole Falls at High Shoals Creek (previous page) 2. High Shoals Creek Falls (previous page) 3. Dukes Creek Falls (this page) 4. DeSoto Falls (next page) |
This area has three observation decks and THREE creeks. The Davis Creek and the Dodd Creek form Dukes Creek. Dukes Creek Falls drops about 200 feet, and is rated 7 on a scale of 1 to 10. Although the two RV Gypsies would have rated it even higher. No photos were taken from Observation Deck #1 because the view was not that great.
Observation Deck #2 |

Below: Part of the falls as seen by the two RV Gypsies from observation deck #2 and then looking down stream.
Below: The two RV Gypsies
looked up towards observation deck #3 from deck #2. |
|
Below: Then the two RV
Gypsies peeked down towards Observation deck #2 from deck #3. |

Below: Views as seen by
the two RV Gypsies from Observation deck #3. |
|
Below: The picture below attempts to show that water is flowing out of the middle of rock as well as flowing over top of the rock
Below: While walking between observation decks 2 and 3, the below photo is an attempt to view the falls that were previously shown from observation deck #2. Unfortunately too many trees block getting a great view from this angle.
Below: The photos below attempt to show how one large tree fell and landed in the Y of another tree.
