Hard Labor Creek State Park
is a 5,804 acre Georgia state park located between Bostwick and Rutledge.
The park is named after Hard Labor Creek, a small stream that cuts through
the park. The creek's name comes either from enslaved people who once
tilled the summer fields, or from Native Americans who found the area
around the stream difficult to ford. The park plays host to an 18-hole
public golf course, which offers a pro shop, driving range, rental cars,
and senior citizen discounts. Rocky Creek provides many of the water
hazards on the course including the 14th hole with its signature water
wheel.
As the two RV Gypsies first entered Hard Labor Creek State Park, a
deer ran across the road in front of their RV. Karen Duquette only managed
to get one blurry photo. But any photo is better than none. They have
seen lots of deer and other wildlife during their travels and hope to
see many more. |

WOW! The campsites were the longest sites
that Lee and Karen Duquette have ever seen in all their 14 years of
full-time RVing. The photos below show the RV and toad of the two RV
Gypsies from the road behind their RV and the road in front of their
RV. The road actually curved around their site. (They hope to have many
more years traveling) |

The site was also the widest site they ever had, so far. |

The two RV Gypsies were in this area for
only two nights and one day. They did not explore the state park that
their RV was parked in because they went to Elder Mill Covered Bridge
and the Halloween Village. Unfortunately the pictures they took around
the area, somehow disappeared before Karen Duquette could post them
on this website. After leaving Georgia, they returned to their families
yard in South Carolina so they could celebrate Halloween, Thanksgiving,
and Christmas with family and friends. That is when Karen attempts to
update this website. |
