This
was one of the nicest campgrounds that the two RV Gypsies have stopped
at. It is located right off Highway 16 in the city of Telkwa, in-between
Houston and Smithers.
Unfortunately,
since then the two RV Gypsies checked on the internet and learned that
this place has closed and the park is up for sale.
Below are several reasons why the two RV Gypsies thought this is a great
RV Park. |
There was a free high-pressure RV Wash to clean off the front of the RV row. |
The price was the same or less than other campgrounds with less amenities. |
Fast Wi-Fi with 10 GB (and FTP access), with password: this has been
unheard of anyplace else. The owner even said, "Let your kids
watch movies." WOW! |
66 channels on TV that came in clearly, including a channel with a TV guide. |
50 amp full hook-up was available. This is NOT common in Canada and even in a lot of the United States. |
Hot showers, restrooms, SAUNA, plus a coin laundry in a locked building. (get a key) |
Smoking not permitted in or around any building. |
Boat launch area into Bulkley River |
a 10-minute walking trail to Telkwa |
friendly, polite person (the owner) in the small office. |
gravel/dirt roads and sites with grass at sites, picnic table in good
shape/fire pit. |
Only one negative - NOT the fault of the campground - a few trains
came by with loud horns. |
Check-out time was 11 a.m. There was no pool, but the two RV Gypsies do not use pools anyway, and the other Canadian campgrounds that the two RV Gypsies have visited did not have pools either. Pets allowed on leash, but not in the shower building. Firewood and laundry soap for sale in the office which was open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Quite hours after 10 p.m. |

The two RV Gypsies took a short walk down the hill to Bulkley River, past two very large fishing tents (they had electricity plus a big refrigerator inside each tent),. Then they walked over a short bridge to see the river. |
