The Two RV Gypsies: Full-Time RVers
|
These comments are just the experience
of the two RV Gypsies and do not make the campground good or bad in
general. The two RV Gypsies have parked here several times because it
provides the best access for visiting friends within an hour or so.

May 18 - 23, 2008 Pohick Bay Regional Park on the Potomac River in the northeastern part of Virginia |
The two RV Gypsies parked their RV at their new home site. |
|
There were no neighbors nearby. Just the sound of birds and a woodpecker to wake up by. Also the sound of the wind rustling through the many trees. |
|
In 2008, the two RV Gypsies took a short hike on a trail at Pohick Bay Regional Park that led to the Potomac River and a surprise at the end. Those photos can be viewed now, but be sure to return here for other dates at this campground, and actual information about the campground and various sites. |

In 2017 The two RV Gypsies were assigned to a nice long gravel site in the back area of the campground with woods all around them and a decent distance between sites. No hook-ups other than 30 amp electric. The campground Wi-Fi was very fast. TV reception was good.Below are a few unusual rules that were written in the campground paperwork: Organized youth groups prohibited in the family campsites and cabins. Camping or sleeping in passenger vehicles or on the ground without a tent is prohibited. RV and tent campers may not stay more than 14 days in an 18 day period.PARK and trails are closed at sunset. Campers must remain in the campground. WHAT???? The two RV Gypsies were out past sunset because they were visiting friends, and they returned to their site without a problem. An after-hour ranger can be reached at phone-571.340.1971. Service and commercial vehicles, tractors and construction equipment are not permitted in the campground. On this date, Check out time 11 a.m. Late checkout fee would be $10 (providing site was not reserved for someone else then you could not check-out late, of course). All costs and times on this website are always subject to change. |

March 30, 2019 - The two RV Gypsies were assigned to a short gravel site with woods behind them and a decent distance between sites. They were up front, not far from the campground entrance so they were off of a paved road. No hook-ups other than 30 amp electric. No Wi-Fi and no TV. No paperwork or rules were received. This was a different experience from the 2017 time here, as shown above. |

Below: The Site of the Two RV Gypsies in 2021 - This time, they did NOT have water or electricity hook-ups. And as with the other visits here, no sewer. Luckily, the two RV Gypsies seldom spend much time in any campground. They are always out enjoying the areas. |
|
Below: Since the two RV Gypsies were parked on a site parallel to the road, their picnic table was on the passenger side of the RV with lots of woods behind them. Of course, as usual, they did not have time to use the picnic table. But it must be noted, that the picnic table was in decent condition, which is not the usual case at many campgrounds. |
