The Two RV Gypsies: Full-Time RVers
parked their RV at Hitchin' Post RV Park 3640 Las Vegas Blvd North Las Vegas, NV September 30 - October 2, 2022 |
The Hitchin' Post RV park also had a hotel, saloon, and restaurant. Finally, the two RV Gypsies got 50 amp in a campground and no problems. But the campground was about a 30-minute drive into the city of Las Vegas. That is, if there are no problems with traffic, which was always heavy on the highway. So Lee Duquette eventually started taking the side road into town and back, which took a bit longer, but was much more peaceful. |
The two RV Gypsies had to park in front of the motel (a part of which is briefly shown in the first below photo) and Lee Duquette walked to the office to register. While waiting in the RV, Karen Duquette took a picture of the restaurant located to the left of the motel, shown in the second photo below. |

After parking in their assigned parking spot in the campground (shown below), the two RV Gypsies walked to the restaurant to eat. They served breakfast all day long, and also salads, sandwiches, steaks, wings, fries, nachos, and seafood. Food was good but it was part of a very noisy, smelly smoke-filled bar area, and the two RV Gypsies had to walk through the bar to get to the restaurant. A sliding glass door separated the two places, but it was constantly opening and closing as servers and guests entered or left, and the two RV Gypsies could smell the smoke, so they only ate there once. On this date, the restaurant was open daily 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and take-out was also offered. |

Below: The road in the campground leading to their parking spot had nice, hard gravel and the sites had small rocks. The sites were nice and long. Cable TV was offered with 3 HBO channels. As usual, the two RV Gypsies did not use any campground amenities other than their own site, and the one time they ate at the restaurant, which was also open to motel guests and any others, as mentioned above. |

Below: The actual entry gate into the campground, located to the right of the motel. A separate gate opened for in and out via code. Karen Duquette loved the USA light flag in the front window of someone's RV. |

This is not a linear site, so there are always choices of where to go next: Below are two choices. |
