Karen
Duquette in Limon, Costa Rica |
Costa Rica (officially the Republic of Costa Rica) is located in Central America, bordered by Nicaragua to the north, the Caribbean Sea to the northeast, Panama to the southeast, the Pacific Ocean to the southwest and Ecuador to the south of Cocos Island. Almost everyone speaks English. |

Costa Rica is one of the
most diverse countries in the world. It contains about 5% of the world's
species in its lush, wild natural environment. It is one of the
few countries in the world with no army, and is considered a safe
paradise. The country and its people have a peaceful disposition.
There is a national Park in Limon, but the cruise did not offer a
trip to that area. |
|
Limon is one of seven provinces in Costa Rica. The capital of the Limon Province is Puerto Limon. It is the only province to be situated entirely on the Caribbean side of the Continental Divide, so its weather is directly affected by the flow of warm, moist air from the Atlantic Ocean. Janice MacKey posed for a photo. |
