The Empire State building was the world's tallest building in the world for nearly 40 years, from 1931 until 1970. It was overtaken as the tallest building by The World Trade Center's North Tower in 1970 and became the 3rd tallest skyscraper in the USA and the 23rd in the world. Including the spire, the Empire State Building stands at 1,454 feet tall. It was named as one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. (As time passes, even these statistics could be surpassed). |
