The two RV Gypsies
In Nipigon, Ontario, Canada
June 25, 2013

While the two RV Gypsies were driving from Terrace Bay and Rainbow Falls to Nipigon, Karen Duquette took a few photos through the windshield of their RV just because the scenery was so beautiful.

Nipigon is located 90 kilometers east of Thunder Bay, and situated at the Crossroads of Canada, where Highways 11 and 17 meet. The Nipigon River Bridge is the only link joining east and west on the Trans-Canada Highway. Nipigon Marina is located at the most northerly point on Nipigon Bay. A well-marked channel leads to a harbor with a marina that can accommodate vessels of all sizes.

Below: Nipigon is well known for the world's largest speckled trout, caught in the Nipigon River just below Rabbit Falls in July of 1916. Dr. Cook reeled in the big one, 14 pounds 8 ounces - 31 inches long and 18 inches around. Guess that inspired this big fish at the Nipigon Welcome Center to bite Lee Duquette's arm.

Below: The Nipigon Welcome Center suggested that the two RV Gypsies drive through the nearby city of Red Rock, so they did. But the only thing they saw there of interest was the welcome sign. Many stores were permanently closed in Red Rock.
