The Chinese Lantern Festival in Cary NC - Page two
Below: Each one was on a solid stand and the animal rotated in a slow, circular motion. The stand listed the different birth years, with the zodiac sign and symbolization of that sign. Karen Duquette is a "dog". Lee Duquette is the "rooster". |
Below: After viewing the above Zodiac representations, Lee and Karen Duquette rounded the corner and came alongside the water and the Dragon Boat. |
Below: The Dragon Boat - It was very different from last years, so at first it was disappointing to Karen Duquette because she loved last year's dragon boat so much. But this one was still enjoyable, and it is nice that the exact same items are not on display each year. Then Karen and Lee Duquette got their first look at the dragon boat from the stern. |
Below: After viewing everything else at this Festival, it became nighttime and Lee and Karen Duquette circled back around to the Dragon Boat (and other displays once again). They really loved the nighttime views best. |
Below: The the dragon let loose with its awesome fire-breathing breath. |
Below: Across from the dragon were some lighted flowers. |
Below: Lee and Karen Duquette continued their walk on the pathway alongside the waters edge. |
Below: Close-up photos of the flowers by the above Jade Rabbit - aka "Moon Rabbit" |
Below: Sea Urchins - a daytime and a nighttime photo |
Below: This unique view was taken at the end of the day, from the shopping area patio. |
Below: A view looking back up to where Lee and Karen Duquette had been earlier. |
Below: Then it was on to The Mythical Creatures |
