To start the day off, Lee Duquette opened his birthday card and present from Karen - Ghiradelli chocolates (his favorite).

Karen Duquette decided to buy Lee a funny card this year to make Lee laugh and it worked. The baby inside the card moved and made "gas" noises.

After a nice Segway ride, and touring downtown Wilmington NC, Lee Duquette picked Floriana Italian Restaurant at 2 Market Street for his birthday dinner because he wanted to eat outside on the second floor balcony overlooking the Cape Fear River.

The restaurant had a nice table set up on a small balcony for two people. They also had a Happy 76th Birthday sign for Lee on the table.

After enjoying a nice Bruschetta with heirloom tomato, basil and olive oil, Lee had a nice pork tenderloin dinner with potato, basil velutata, tomato valdeon vinaigrette. Karen had a filet mignon steak with corn puree, blueberry sauce and spinach. It was excellent food.

Karen Duquette also had a unique drink called "Marie Antoinette's Left". It had vanilla rum, Amaretto, strawberry pineapple, and cranberry juice. Lee drank water, as usual.

As they sat on the balcony, it poured very heavy rain for awhile, but the two RV Gypsies did not want to go inside, and the small awning overhead kept them dry enough. After the rain stopped, they enjoyed watching a mother and her two young children jumping in the roadside puddles down below. Then the servers brought out a Tiramisu for Lee Duquette's Birthday Desert (at no charge).
