The
Two RV Gypsies: Full-Time RVers |
Shipyards Park is connected to Rotary Peace Park, 1.5 km to the south, by a scenic footpath along the Yukon River and by the Whitehorse Waterfront Trolley which runs daily during the summer. |
Shipyards Park is located at 2nd Avenue and Ray Street in Whitehorse, and was designed to be enjoyed year round (but year round will not be by the two RV Gypsies). It offers a large open space for festivals and community events, an outdoor amphitheater, a toboggan hill and a skating loop. There is a lot of Yukon history to be learned via signs in this park. |

Below: "Thinker", a sculpture by Béla Simó, was displayed near 2nd Avenue and "Raven's House" that was shown above. "Thinker" is a sculpture by Alyx Jones, and stands beside the trolley track. Lee Duquette got inside of "Thinker" to help himself think better !!! |

Compadres Burritos Restaurant |
For the last few years, Compadres Burritos has been run out of the Shipyards Park kitchen - it used to be in a wagon. This was the best burrito in town - filling, healthy, tasty, variety - it had it all going on! The two RV Gypsies stopped at this restaurant because of the fantastic smell coming out of the restaurant, and they had a burrito here and were pleasantly surprised by how fresh and satisfying it was to eat. However, this restaurant does NOT run year-round, only from May to September. |
